IRISNext through Canon IMS: an any-prem content services platform to manage, share and automate content, with AI that can run fully on-premises.
IRISNext gives organisations one integrated platform to manage, share, secure and automate digital content and the processes around it. It runs on-premises, hosted or hybrid, and combines capture, document and records management, workflow, collaboration and search. IRISNext is developed by IRIS, part of Canon Information Management Solutions.
Canon organises information management in four movements: Capture, Content, Communicate and Process. IRISNext is a Canon-developed platform for the Content layer: it captures and classifies content, governs it through its lifecycle and drives the workflows that act on it.

The IDP assistant introduced in IRISNext 10.1 classifies documents and extracts metadata and data with AI. It can use cloud services such as Azure, Amazon Textract, Google Document AI or OpenAI, or run large language models on your own servers through Ollama, so sensitive documents never leave your environment.
A Flemish public broadcaster moved its archive of scripts and production reports from an unstructured network drive into IRISNext. With automatic indexing and full-text search, staff now find historical documents in seconds instead of searching by hand.

Documents are routed for review and approval, tasks are assigned and teams work on the same content together. The Outlook add-in, now also for on-premises Exchange, and web scanning with QR or blank-page separation bring content in where people already work.
Access controls, encryption, audit trails and compliance reporting protect sensitive content, and new duplicate and virus detection checks files on upload. Belgian municipalities and public health organisations rely on IRISNext for sensitive records.
The IRIS Academy trains users, administrators and engineers in IRISNext, including the IDP and AI assistant, in Dutch, French and English, on site, remotely or at the academies in Diegem and Louvain-la-Neuve, with certification for most courses.
