Therefore is Canon’s information management platform. It stores, manages and processes every type of business information in one secure system, with a built-in workflow engine, full-text search and capture from paper and digital sources. It runs on your own servers or, as Therefore Online, in the cloud.
Canon organises information management in four movements: Capture, Content, Communicate and Process. Therefore is Canon’s own platform for the Content layer: one controlled home for documents and records, fed by capture on the way in and connected to workflows and systems of record on the way out.

Documents live in shared drives, mailboxes and business applications, and nobody is sure which version is right. Therefore brings them into one central repository with metadata, version control and full-text OCR search, so people find a document by its content or properties in seconds.
The built-in workflow engine routes invoices, contracts and HR files for review and approval, with tasks, deadlines and escalations. The Content Connector continuously picks up and indexes documents from watched folders, mailboxes, cloud storage and e-signature providers. The same engine runs contract management: contract files with templates, metadata, approval workflows, alerts for deadlines and renewals, and retention.

Smart Capture is an AI-based document processing module for financial documents. It recognises invoice numbers, amounts and line items, presents them for validation in a web interface, and passes the result straight into workflow, archiving and retention, connected to your ERP or CRM.
Webhooks exchange events with ERP and CRM in real time, and improved REST calls let you plug your own AI provider into Therefore workflows. The renewed, WCAG-ready Therefore Portal lets external parties view documents securely, with insight into who opened what.
Role- and attribute-based permissions, retention policies and a full audit trail protect every document. Therefore Corporation is certified to ISO/IEC 27001:2022, and the platform runs on your own servers or in the cloud, developed in Austria within the Canon Group.
