iPaaS

Connect the cloud, on-premises and legacy applications a process actually runs on, from a single design surface, instead of a custom-built connection between every pair of systems that needs to talk to each other.

Where point-to-point integrations become one connected layer

iPaaS, an integration platform as a service, connects separate applications and processes across cloud and on-premises environments from a single design surface, instead of a custom integration project for every pair of systems that needs to exchange data.

We use two platforms for this, depending on what the process touches: Workato for cloud, SaaS and on-premises business applications, and uniFLOW sysHUB where the integration is document or print driven and needs to reach into SAP, ERP or legacy systems.

One connection instead of one project per system

Every pre-built connector removes a custom integration project, and where one does not already exist, an open REST connector and connector SDK cover the rest, so a missing connector is not a reason to fall back to point-to-point code.

Governed by design, not policed after the fact

Role-based access, your own encryption keys and, where required, EU data residency are part of the platform rather than a separate project, so integration does not become the ungoverned back door into your systems.

One source of truth across every connected system

Every connected application works from the same current data instead of a nightly batch or a manual re-entry, which is what actually removes the inconsistent customer or stock record, not just the manual step that caused it.

Capabilities

Universal connectivity: Pre-built connectors across cloud, SaaS and on-premises systems, extended by an open REST connector and SDK where one does not already exist.

Document and print-aware integration: Connects SAP, ERP and legacy systems with document and print output as a native step, not something bolted on afterwards.

One design surface for IT and business: Workflows built and reviewed in the same place by both, with governance over who touches what.

Real-time synchronisation: Every connected system works from the same current data instead of a nightly batch or manual re-entry.

Governed by design: Role-based access, your own encryption keys and EU data residency, so integration stays visible and controlled as more processes connect through it.

Ready for AI agents: The same governed connections agents can call through Workato’s Enterprise MCP, so a process automated today is also usable from an AI agent tomorrow.

How we help with iPaaS

Workato and uniFLOW sysHUB between them cover most integration needs, but the value is in matching the right platform, and the right connectors, to your actual systems.

Strategic advice on integration architecture: We map which systems need to talk to each other and advise on the platform, or combination of platforms, that fits.

Delivery and implementation: We build and deploy the connections themselves, from a single Workato recipe to a full uniFLOW sysHUB workflow.

Local support: Our support teams monitor and maintain the connections that keep your systems in sync, every day.

Where it fits

iPaaS is one of the capabilities we bring into our Process Automation practice, delivered through Workato for business applications and uniFLOW sysHUB for document and print driven integration. Which platform, or combination, we propose depends on your process, your existing systems and the volume you handle, not on what we happen to sell.

“Most organisations do not have one integration problem, they have a dozen small ones spread across a decade of software purchases. Workato and uniFLOW sysHUB between them cover the SaaS estate and the document-and-print side, without forcing a single tool to do a job it was not built for.”

Questions we get asked

What is the difference between Workato and uniFLOW sysHUB here?

Workato is the default for cloud, SaaS and on-premises business applications. uniFLOW sysHUB comes in when the integration is document or print driven and needs to reach into SAP, ERP or older systems with print output as part of the flow.

Do we need to replace our current integrations?

Usually not in one move. Both platforms connect to the same source and target systems as whatever is running today, so integrations can be rebuilt one process at a time rather than a single cut-over.

How does this fit with compliance requirements?

Governance is part of the platform rather than a separate project: role-based access, your own encryption keys and, where required, EU data residency.

Can AI agents use these connections too?

Through Workato’s Enterprise MCP, yes: agents get governed access to the same connected systems, through the same permissions and audit trail as everything else.

What if a system has no pre-built connector?

An open REST connector and connector SDK cover systems without one, so a missing connector is not a reason to fall back to custom point-to-point code.
