IRISXtract sits at the front of a document process. Its AI-based classification engine works out what a document is with a free-form, full-text approach that needs no templates, extracts the fields that matter and hands them to the ERP, CRM, ECM or BPM system that needs them. All technology in IRISXtract is intellectual property of I.R.I.S., part of the Canon Group.
Canon organises information management in four movements: Capture, Content, Communicate and Process. IRISXtract is Canon’s own engine for the Capture layer: it turns incoming paper, PDFs and email into validated data, so every step after it works with facts instead of documents someone still has to read.

Before a document can enter a process, someone has to work out what it is. IRISXtract classifies each document automatically with AI, using its full text rather than fixed templates, and routes it to the right extraction logic without anyone opening it first.
Every extracted field carries a confidence score. Only fields below the threshold go to a person for validation, so review time goes to genuine exceptions instead of re-checking data the system already got right.
